i've uploaded the changes to the CVS server, and will be updating the software package shortly, after hopefully getting a clarification on the licensing terms of the jymsg software!
NOTE: THIS IS NOT A YAHOO! MESSENGER SUPPORT FORUM! when i say "support" i mean support for this program imtask...i've gotten a bunch of entries asking for help with their yahoo! messenger software. this software and site has nothing to do with the yahoo! messenger client.

unfortunately, as far as signing up for yahoo! service is concerned, i'm not the expert here. :( you may want to check the FAQ or hit up tech support with your problem signing up.
you may just want to make up a zip code. for example, 46205. just use that. :)

Could not load the DLL Library
C:\WINDOWS\Kernal32.DLL An Attempt was made to made to load a program with an incorrect format.

Posted by: Karrie at May 24, 2004 08:45 PMalot of program malfuctions are caused by damaged dll files as well as other files and cookies that are not removed after an uninstall.. my advice is uninstall.. delete the folder and remain with the setup.exe ... delete all cookies and associated files ... shut down and reboot.... use ur ctr alt del to end all tasks leaving only ur explorer and systray....this is because with win2000 and higher... these programs tend to interfere with installations resulting in the generation of an invalid page fault error in module unkown..or kernel***.... install ur messenger then and reboot.... failure to enter chat rooms is a nasty result of either being iggied....or simply yahoo server fault.... if u still get run time errors...the problem is not the messenger... its ur explorer....formatt and re install....but remember to make a copy of all ur drivers and setup utilities that are not on ur setup cd... good luck to you all and see u in yahoo.....look out for "wildlife"....feel free to email any other questions u might have.....by the way....whose got a copy of the latest ytunnel?...holla at me wud yah ;)

I have been having problems with this type of thing in my yahoo messenger 'www.webcamra.da.ru' and the others mentioned above as per abrink84's post above. I could not get rid of it either, but i found a website that goes through a step by step proces for getting rid of it. I tried it and it seems to have worked. (did not have them popping up anyway). Be advised that this does not appear to be an offcial yahoo process or anything and if you use it, it is at your own risk. I have tried it and used yahoo and have not had any trouble with my PC or yahoo, and the links have stopped. the page gives very clear easy steps to follow complete with pictures of what to look for. I wo8ld be happy to help anyone who may have trouble understanding the pages instructions as those links have been so annoyign to me. I will reply to any posts here for a while. Good luck.

I tried everything: downloading it on two different drives (C and D), with and without Symantec's "Auto Protect" enabled, with and without Symantec installed, with and without Cookies enabled, and even going as far as downloading Messenger from both the UK and Canada - and nothing worked.
Two days prior to my beginning the reformat of mine I loaded IM on three computers and it worked flawlessly on them. Why theirs and not mine?
What I found it to be was a problem with the new 6.0 version of IM, because of all the new "security features" being designed to run on the NTFS file system - which doesn't seem to be backwards compatible with the FAT32 file system. That causes a problem with Windows 95/98 users and users who install Windows 2000 Professional with the FAT32 file system (as is the case with mine).
It seems that if a user has been with IM and has "Upgraded" to the newer versions along the way - then it still works. But, if a user uninstalls and reinstalls it, or reformats their computer and tries to go directly to the "New 6.0 Version" (using FAT32) the error occurs.
I found a website that has archived all the past versions of IM - I went there and downloaded version 5.0 - it worked like a charm. So try this: uninstall Messenger (through Control Panel) - and then delete the Yahoo! folder listed in the "Programs" folder using Explore (Right Click on the My Computer icon and click Explore).
When that is complete log on to: http://www.freecreed.com/ymsgr-archive.html - scroll to the bottom of the page and click on version 5.6.0.1358 - download that into a Folder (you) created on your desktop and launch the install application from there. It worked flawlessly (for me).
The guy who owns this website also has a "yupdater" program that will kill the annoying, "Would you like to upgrade now" message that pops up every time you launch IM.

I am trying to sign in my Yahoo Messenger since long but sorry to point out that although my net is working & I have successfully installed yahoo messenger 3 times today but unable to sign in. I have a connection through proxy settings. I have also supplied the proxy settings & port as per instructions but the problem is not yet rectified.

It works fine elsewhere. When I sign into Yahoo IM and click on Webcam the screen freezes and it is stuck on stupid with a message saying "This Program is Not Responding" when I try to close out, a message asking to send an error message appears. Regardless if I say yes or no it will not close. if I try again it still will not work. I have to restart to make it go away. I have uninstalled and reinstalled completely 2 or 3 times and still no luck. I have just about given up. Could someone please help me. I have been sitting at my computer all day and night trying to get it to work!!!!

I have plm with yahoo instant messenger my user name is aldon137_2000 also my wife`s user name is dear1944 it had been on for a long long time and not know what happen that dear1944 stopped wont open any more so i had to make another new screename sharrongarner for her then again my screename aldon137_2000 won`t open again, really never happens like this before whats going on??? our both computers are fine with all other instantmessenger but this yahoo iam so puzzle unusually.... we are both deaf person thank Charles Garner
