What is ImTask?

ImTask is a task for Apache Ant is a task that allows a user to send an Instant message to a user or list of users. I initially wrote it because i find it helpful to notify a build team of the status of a build that is underway.

Currently two services are supported, AIM and Jabber. The releases of ImTask are bundled with the proper versions required, and links are provided to the respective locations of the original distributions of the software. I encourage software developers to check them out:

http://jaimlib.sourceforge.net/
http://www.jivesoftware.com/xmpp/smack

the links to the distribution of the software will always be located in the left nav bar.

ImTask was formerly TocTask, but i rewrote it to allow support for multiple transports. If you take a look at the source you should be able to quickly get another bot going; it's just about as straightforward as writing an Ant task. ;)
